THIS IS A PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION
Effective July 1, 2022 

The New Brunswick Teachers’ Federation (NBTF), the union representing 9 000 public school teachers in New Brunswick, is seeking applications for the position of Labour Relations Officer.

Job Description:

  • Provide information to members on the interpretation and application of the Collective Agreement;
  • Provide members with advice and guidance on grievance procedures in cases of alleged violations of the Collective Agreement;
  • Deliver professional development and in-service related to working conditions;
  • Provide advice on Employment Insurance Benefits as they relate to Maternity Leaves;
  • Attend branch meetings, make presentations and provide guidance to members on syndical matters;
  • Provide representation to members invited to a meeting under Article 55 of the Collective the Agreement;
  • Provide guidance to members in all aspects of the application of all policies related to working conditions;
  • Attend all meetings of the Federation Executive Committee and the Federation Board of Directors;
  • Write articles for the publication of the NBTF Newsletter at the request of the Executive Director;
  • Execute any other duty as assigned by the NBTF Executive Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate good organizational skills and autonomy;
  • Demonstrate abilities to be a team player;
  • Be available to travel anywhere in New Brunswick without notice;
  • Possess communication skills that welcome collaboration;
  • Be able to solve problems;
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge of the Collective Agreement, of the DEECD Policies, of the Education Act and Regulations;
  • Possess knowledge or experience in labour relations;
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English and French, spoken and written.

Salary and Benefits:

In accordance with NBTF Policy.
