The Co-Presidency of the Federation is covered by the elected Presidents of the NBTA and the AEFNB. The Federation Executive Committee and Board of Directors are comprised of some members of the Executive and Board of Directors of both the NBTA and AEFNB.
Prior to being elected as NBTF Co-President, Peter was teaching in the experiential learning and industrial arts departments at Nackawic High School.
Peter has been an active NBTA member for many years; he has held positions of School Representative, President, Director, Acting Past President, and since 2017, he has been on both NBTA and NBTF executive committees.
As an active community member and teacher advocate, Peter feels it is important to celebrate the many successes of our teachers and students in New Brunswick. Along with his NBTF Co-President Stéphanie, he will continue to work on key issues such as teacher recruitment, work-life balance, and improving working conditions.
Stéphanie was a history and law teacher at École L’Odyssée in Moncton until she began her mandate as NBTF Co-President.
Stéphanie is well acquainted with New Brunswick education issues. She has served on the board of directors of both the AEFNB and the NBTF beginning in 2017. Since 2020, her role has expanded to also include a position on the executive of both organizations.
Driven by her passion for social justice, Stéphanie will continue the efforts of her predecessors by working with the various stakeholders to ensure that teachers’ working conditions improve. The school environment has changed over the years, and in Stéphanie’s view, it is essential that the resources allocated to it create optimal conditions for everyone.
